Job Description

Otter Valley is seeking an enthusiastic innovative and collaborative fulltime High School language arts teacher to fill a vacancy in theschool ResponsibilitiesAll Otter Valley teachers are expected to:implement standardsaligned units of study and engaging lessonsuse contentspecific pedagogical techniques to engage learnersuse assessment to inform instruction throughout the learning processcreate positive classroom cultures focused on relationships inclusive practices and reciprocal trustcollaborate effectively with colleagues to improve teaching methods and ensure supports are in place for all studentsSpecific responsibilities for this position include:A working knowledge of the Common Core content and recommended enthusiasm for the craft of writing and ability to work with different rubrics for specific writing or experience in working with younger high school studentsStrong communication skills. (Teacher to student parent administrator and other professionals involved in a students educational goals. Understanding of adolescent brain strategies and a willingness to incorporate the practices in the classroom.A willingness to apply Global Best Practices in the classroom and school.A willingness to work on practices associated with a PBIS spirit for a middle level team and advisory / morning meeting teamEducation Training and Experience RequirementsPossession of or eligibility for a Vermont teaching license in English Language ArtsPlease apply through schoolspring Ruppel Principal
