Who are we looking for

GHD has an excellent opportunity for an experienced Engineer / Design Manager to join our team in the Northeastern Pennsylvania (Scranton/WilkesBarre)! Working with our Engineering Design Organization (EDO) throughout the Country youll manage and coordinate our technical team within a project to ensure quality complete & ontime delivery customer satisfaction team coordination and team performance measures within the project. This role would serve as the local point of contact for clients in need of service while leveraging GHDs bench depth to drive the success of a project. You will have the opportunity to work remotely and report to our Bloomsburgoffice on a monthly basis. This arrangement is ideal for the right candidate who values both flexibility and periodic inperson collaboration.

Youll support Project Managers and Directors in all aspects of the project with a primary focus on organizing the technical team to complete the task controlling the design path solving problems and ultimately being responsible for the design achieving the result. This role is commonly referred to as a Project Engineer or Coordinator in the consulting engineering industry especially on large multidisciplinary projects.

Working with an energetic and high performing team this position offers a variety of work and will see you involved in:

  • Responsibility for coordination of the technical team leads of the different design disciplines
  • Carrying out projects in accordance with the policies of GHD to meet the needs of the client and comply with all applicable laws and regulations
  • Responsibility for developing or verifying the technical scope of a project
  • Coordinating the preparation of a project methodology or project Work Plan as it relates to the technical scope
  • Verifying that the schedule and budget data match the progress of the professional services throughout of the project
  • Providing mentorship and development advice to junior level staff
  • Ensuring Team Leads are getting the resources they need to meet project objectives
  • Working closely with the engineering group to facilitate decisionmaking related to design the choice of process and equipment and daytoday problems
  • Complete final review of technical procurement documents in tender packages coordinating review by GHD Legal team where required
  • Ensures that all proposed changes whether approved or not are recorded and properly filed
  • Collaborating with clients for planning purposes providing updates and building relationships

What you will bring to the team:

  • Bachelors and/or Masters degree in Engineering or other technical discipline
  • EIT and either have or seeking to obtain a PE
  • At least 7 years of technical administrative and project experience managing the design delivery for larger multidiscipline projects specifically for water and wastewater industrial/process plants facilities or buildings
  • Previous consulting experience strongly desired
  • Knowledge of scheduling software and engineering and capital cost estimating techniques is a definite asset
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Able and willing to travel to client job sites as needed (primarily local with the occasional overnight)
