Job Description

Job Title: Engineer Decatur Texas

Reporting to:Project Engineer Project Managers CAD Manager on daytoday basis

About Role:We are looking for engineers/architects to work within our Virtual Deign & Construction (VDC) team as part of building design. This role will provide the opportunity to work on some of the most innovative and exclusive projects that IKERD are involved with globally. Candidates would need to work a minimum of 40 hours per week in our Denton office. This is for recent graduates as well as experienced individuals in engineering. Minimum of 2 years experience is preferred.

Responsibilities:

  • Assisting design in drawing production and prepare them for commercial building projects.
  • Review project files for compliance with Standards/protocols
  • Learn laser scanning for 3D model creation of buildings
  • Implement best practice procedures for engineering analysis
  • Produce accurate 2D drawings 3D models
  • Coordinating drawing production in line with project requirements and in conjunction with other discipline.
  • Helping to technically deliver CAD/BIM projects in the role of CAD and BIM coordination
  • Able to meet tight deadlines and able to work alone or with a team

Qualities and Skills:

  • Desire to obtain the Certificate of Development in BIM Part 1 certification (CDBIM) is a plus.
  • Have a working knowledge of 1 of the following disciplines: Architecture Structure Mechanical Electrical Plumbing or Civil.
  • Interested in learning other areas of the building industry beyond the discipline they know.
  • Good working knowledge of at least 1 one of the following Autodesk products: AutoCAD Revit Navisworks Inventor and/or Civil 3D.
  • Experience working in the commercial building industry is a plus.
  • Excellent communications skills both written and verbal
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Able to manage sensitive and sometimes confidential information
  • Selfmotivated hardworking and able to take responsibility in a proactive approach to daily task
  • Flexible attitude

Desirable:

  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office 2013 or higher. Good working knowledge of Word Excel Publisher and PowerPoint.
  • Relevant training will be given to suitable candidate.
