This position is eligible to participate in the ASE Stipend Pay Program employees canearn up to $8400 a year with qualifying certifications. We reimburse 100 of the cost forpassed tests and offer training assistance!

Uniforms provided to shop employees at no charge and are eligible to participate in theSafetytoe Shoe reimbursement program 100 of cost up to $250.00 every othercalendar year)

Work Hours: Monday through Friday 7:00am to 3:30pm

Anticipated hiring salary is $52635 annually with a potential to earn up to $61035 ASEMaster Parts Professional status is obtained.

Job Summary:

This position is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the parts department which includes maintaining accurate records of parts inventory ordering and receiving parts for a wide variety of light/medium/heavy duty vehicle & equipment while doing so in accordance with State Procurement Laws as well as ADOT policies and procedures. This position must also ensure that the parts department meets the quality and safety standards of ADOT and the industry.

Job Duties:

Supervise plan schedule and direct the workflow of subordinates to help meet the maintenance missions of the Equipment Shop. Verify ordered and received parts/supplies are in compliance with Procurement Laws and Regulations ensuring proper buying practices and vendor compliance to contracts terms/conditions.

Oversee purchasing receiving issuing inventorying and distribution (delivery) processes. Initiates the purchase and payment of parts and services to support the maintenance and repair of the State fleet.

Open/close and monitor maintenance work orders input into the Fleet Focus Management System and ensure accurate parts/supplies requests/cost data into the Fleet Focus Management System.

Operate a state vehicle for pickup and delivery of parts/supplies as needed or as directed. Load/unload cargo on/off trucks. Operate vehicle/truck lift forklift vehicle pallet jacks and drum lifts as required.

Other duties as assigned as related to the position.

Knowledge Skills & Abilities (KSAs):

Knowledge:
Safe work practices in parts/warehouse.
Local/state/national/ suppliers jobbers and vendors
OSHA and State Safety.
Regulations/Policies pertaining to Parts/Warehouse Operations.
Procurement laws rules and regulations.
ADOT and ADOA personnel policies and procedures.
Fleet Focus Vehicle Management program.
Makes models and parts information of variety of automotive light/medium/heavy duty vehicle/equipment construction equipment and specialized road maintenance parts.

Skill:
Written and oral communication.
Leading Supervising Automotive Parts Personnel with respect ADOAs/ADOTs Human Resources Policies.
Training Automotive Parts Personnel.
Problem identification solving and analytical processes
Accounting and mathematics.
Technical equipment such as computer programs Microsoft Word Excel Powerpoints Google Workspace label printers fax and copy machines.
Inputting parts/cost data into Fleet Focus.
Obtain/Using EMS Reports and other data collection reports.
Interpreting budget and performance reports.
Identifying/implementing/enforcing safe work practices for parts/warehouse department employees.

Ability:

Determine/maintain appropriate shop parts/supplies inventories based on past usage/projected needs.
Review/audit work order requests invoices and other parts/supply related documents and PCard Program within the Parts Department.
Monitor the parts department workflow and assign work to employees daily or as necessary.
Establish/maintain effective working relationships with employees management customers and vendors.
Operate a variety of department warehouse equipment vehicles and forklift.
Properly Load/unload and secure cargo for vehicle transport.
Lift/push/pull up to 50 lbs and pass a physical exam.
Ability to coach and develop employees including continuous improvement practices and principles.

Selective Preference(s):

Five years of experience in the automotive light medium heavy duty construction vehicle/equipment parts industry and three years supervisory experience in managing an Automotive and/or HeavyDuty Parts Department. ASE (Automotive Service Excellence) Parts Certification is highly preferred.

PreEmployment Requirements:

This position requires driving or the use of a vehicle as an essential function of the job and the following requirements apply. Any employee operating a motor vehicle on State business must possess and retain a current valid classappropriate drivers license complete all required training and successfully pass all necessary drivers license record checks. The license must be current unexpired and neither revoked nor suspended. Employees who drive on state business are subject to drivers license record checks must maintain acceptable driving records and must complete all required driver training. An employee who operates a personally owned vehicle on state business shall maintain the statutorily required liability insurance (see Arizona Administrative Code (A.A.C. R210207.11.

All newly hired State employees are subject to and must successfully complete the Electronic Employment Eligibility Verification Program (EVerify).
