Position Description Summary
To help students succeed academically by joining with the Center of Academic Programs for Support Services CAPSS and assisting in department operations and clerical duties with a focus on the Study Strategies Class and students. Essential job responsibilities include but are not limited to: Assist with Study Strategies class take attendance collect/record assignments engage students in interactive activities and build relationships with students Coach students seeking study strategies and accountability. Followup with students regarding assignments and other needs Assist with daily and longterm tasks and projects relating to CAPSS File and/or update various documents or spreadsheets Manage electronic documents Bring about campus awareness of the department (i.e. Creating bulletin board displays and promotional material and participating in various campus events) Train students to use assistive technology (AT) Answer phones and direct emails as needed Assist in general clerical duties Be familiar with and work within the parameters of all FERPA regulations Abide by all University policies Student positions are open to individuals enrolled in a minimum of 6 TRAD credits at UNW .
Required Qualifications
Must be detailoriented organized and selfdisciplined Able to interact with a variety of individuals in a professional tactful and courteous manner Have strong interpersonal and customer service skills Able to maintain confidential information and abide by all FERPA regulations Must have proficient computer skills (i.e. Moodle and Microsoft Office Professional applications) Able to prioritize and complete tasks in a timely manner and take initiative Able to work independently and as a member of a team Understand and abide by University of Northwesterns Declaration of Christian Community and Doctrinal Statement is essential
