Are you detailoriented organized and passionate about helping people navigate the complexities of healthcare billing and claims Logan Health is looking for a Patient Accounting Specialist to join our dynamic team! This position coordinates and facilitates patient medical billing and collection activities in assigned area(s). Assigned areas may consist of but may not be limited to; billing payment posting collections payer claims research customer service accounts receivable etc.

What Youll Bring to the Table:

  • Experience: At least one year of experience with claims billing and collections and two years in a business office setting.

  • Skills: Proficiency in basic accounting and tenkey by touch (preferred) with a solid foundation in business mathematics and correspondence.

  • Problem Solving: Exceptional investigative analytical and troubleshooting skills.

  • Industry Knowledge: Previous experience in a hospital or medical office is a plus especially in claim resolution and payer regulations.

  • Customer Service: Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to handle sensitive matters with professionalism and empathy.

  • SelfStarter: Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and work both independently and within a team.

  • Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills ensuring clear and effective interactions with diverse audiences.

  • Tech Savvy: Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel is a plus) and the ability to adapt to new software systems.

  • Confidentiality: A deep understanding of HIPAA and other federal regulations related to patient privacy.

Your Responsibilities:

  • Serve as the goto liaison between patients providers insurance payers vendors and other departments.

  • Be the first point of contact for inquiries regarding quotes equipment authorizations and more in your assigned area.

  • Analyze and interpret account data to ensure timely resolution of claims and payments collaborating with the right parties as needed.

  • Manage Medicare Medicaid and Commercial insurance claims ensuring accurate interpretation of Explanation of Benefits (EOBs) and identifying potential payment discrepancies.

  • Post payments adjustments and manage insurance recoupments and refunds in a timely manner.

  • Resolve insurance appeals and correspondence quickly and efficiently.

  • Document all communications clearly and accurately keeping meticulous records.

  • Maintain consistent productivity and quality standards contributing positively to the teams goals and philosophy.

  • Participate in team meetings bringing fresh ideas and maintaining a focus on continuous improvement.

Schedule:

Logan Health operates 24 hours per day seven days per week. Schedules are set to accommodate the requirements of the position and the needs of the organization and may be adjusted as needed.
