Job Title: Speech Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA) Parttime/PRN
Job Summary: The Speech Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA) will support licensed SpeechLanguage Pathologists (SLPs) in implementing speech therapy programs for individuals with various speech and language disorders. The role will involve working directly with patients to carry out therapy plans monitor progress and assist in administrative tasks. The position is parttime or PRN meaning work hours will be flexible and based on the needs of the department or patients.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
Provide patient care within your scope following the treatment plan.
Assist in implementing speech therapy plans under SLP supervision.
Monitor and document patient progress and response to treatment.
Educate patients/clients and caregivers as needed.
Complete visit documentation including progress and clinical notes promptly.
Follow infection control and safety protocols.
Communicate effectively with patients caregivers and the healthcare team.
Meet continuing education requirements and participate in inservice training.
Ensure compliance with all relevant payor requirements.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Graduate from a school of Speech Language Pathology Assistant with a Bachelors degree (or higher) with an emphasis in SpeechLanguage Pathology or Audiology.
Current Texas State License as an SLPA
CPR Certification
Recent work experience in Home Health (preferred)
2 years experience as an SLPA in an acute care or rehabilitation setting
Drivers License (required)
Car Insurance & registration (required)
Skills:
Knowledge of speech therapy techniques exercises and tools.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills to work effectively with patients families and other healthcare professionals.
Ability to observe document and report patient progress accurately.
Ability to follow detailed instructions and therapy plans.
Strong clinical assessment organizational skills and attention to detail.
Bilingual (Spanish) preferred
