DESCRIPTION OF WORK
As a Staff Psychiatrist you will provide comprehensive treatment services to the patients at Torrance State Hospital. You will perform detailed psychiatric examinations and make appropriate diagnoses to prescribeIndividual Treatment Plans (ITPs). You will make daily rounds of wards preparecompetency assessments and monitor medication regimens. This role requires effective communication to consult with disciplinary teams and patients as well as a genuine desire to promote improvement by providingtreatment that prepares patients for reentry in the community. In addition you will attend medical staff meetings provide leadership during patient emergencies and testify at habeas corpus hearings competency hearings and guardianship hearings.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:
- Fulltime employment 37.5 hours per week
- Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM Monday Friday with a 30minute lunch. You may possible be scheduled evenings weekends and holiday oncall.
- Telework:You will not have the option to telework in this position.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY
QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
- Completion of a residency or training program in psychiatry which meets the certification requirements of the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology or the American Osteopathic Board of Neurology and Psychiatry.
Special Requirements:
- You must be in possession of a license to practice medicine in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania as issued by the State Board of Medical Education and Licensure or the State Board of Osteopathic Examiners.
Other Requirements:
- PA residency requirementis currentlywaived for this title.
- You must be able to perform essential job functions.
Legal Requirements:
- A conditional offer of employment will require a medical examination.
- This position falls under the provisions of the Older Adult Protective Services Act.
- Under the Act a conditional offer of employment will require submission and approval of satisfactory criminal history reports including but not limited to PA State Police and FBI clearance.
