We are seeking a skilled Platform Architect Senior Lead or Expert level to lead the design and implementation of our cloud platform which will serve as the backbone for application development and advanced data science solutions. In this pivotal role you will build tools and processes that facilitate selfservice with leastprivilege solutions aimed at improving security developer productivity and compliance. This role will be based in Englewood Colorado.
As a Senior Platform Architect you will be responsible for shaping the architectural vision and strategy of our platform ensuring it aligns with Boeing Digital Tech Ops goals and industry best practices. You will collaborate closely with crossfunctional teams including product management application development design and operations to gather requirements and drive the adoption of cloud technologies.
This role requires a selfdriven and innovative individual who is passionate about leveraging cloudnative best practices to create scalable resilient and secure solutions. You will have the opportunity to mentor junior team members establish best practices and foster a culture of engineering excellence within the team. Your contributions will be critical in transforming our platform into a robust and efficient environment that supports our mission of delivering cuttingedge aerospace solutions.
Position Responsibilities:
- Build tools and processes for selfservice with leastprivilege solutions.
- Drive strategy and improvements proactively engaging with stakeholders to align with business goals.
- Understand and promote architectural methodologies such as Pace Layering and Microservices Architecture.
- Foster a culture of engineering excellence and drive reuse and innersource solutions.
- Increase awareness and drive adoption of cloud technologies.
- Lead the craftsmanship availability resilience and scalability of solutions.
- Innovate with cuttingedge technologies and promote teamwork and diversity.
- Apply software engineering discipline to develop cloud platform products.
- Challenge assumptions to build consensus and reduce technical debt.
- Prototype and incubate solutions for technical review and adoption.
- Mentor junior team members and establish best practices for the platform team.
- Assess the current platform state identify gaps and implement improvements for continuous enhancement.

This position is hybrid. This means that the selected candidate will be required to perform some work onsite at the Englewood CO location. This is at the hiring teams discretion and could potentially change in the future.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
- A technical degree in Computer Science Engineering or a related field with at least 10 years of technology experience or 15 years of relevant experience.
- Proven experience with Cloud Native development particularly using AWS (experience with Azure and GCP is a plus).
- Strong knowledge and experience in cloud security architecture and implementation strategies.
Knowledge Experience and Skills:
- Proficiency in Gitbased version control systems.
- Familiarity with CI/CD DevOps and GitOps practices.
- Experience in data structuring and serialization using JSON and YAML.
- Understanding of container design patterns and principles including experience with Docker and Kubernetes.
- Understanding of container design patterns and principles with experience in Docker and Kubernetes as well as knowledge of container orchestration tools such as ECS and EKS.
- Programming skills for automation in languages such as Python Groovy or Go.
- Experience with PolicyasCode solutions (e.g. Cloud Custodian Open Policy Agent).
- Familiarity with cloud provider CLIs CDKs and SDKs.
- Proficiency in designing and implementing RESTful web services.
- Experience with InfrastructureasCode autoprovisioning and configuration management tools including Ansible and Terraform.
- Systems development and administration experience with knowledge of Linux and Windows scripting.
- Understanding of Agile engineering and delivery methodologies.
- Contributions to opensource projects are highly valued.
