Hinsdale Middle High School is in search of an experienced school counseling leader with a passion for advancing student advocacy and collaboration in a small rural community. We seek a professional who desires to promote success for all students provide preventive services and respond to identified student needs by implementing a comprehensive school counseling program that addresses academic career and personal/social/behavior health development for all students. The general responsibilities of the position include: 1. Lead the overall efforts of the school counseling office by advising and supporting all middle and high school students regarding individual academic and educational progress including as they prepare for their postsecondary experience.2 .Specifically serve as the preparation counselor and postsecondary coach for all students seeking to enroll in a college or university upon high school graduation.3. Working collaboratively with the certified school social worker addresses students shortterm social and emotional concerns.4. Work cooperatively and collaboratively with the director of academics and career readiness school registrar special education case managers classroom teachers support staff and administrators to ensure high quality aligned academic and SEL programming.5. Assist all students with building their academic achievement strategies during course counseling course selection and course participation. 6. Communicate effectively with students parents staff administrators and the public.7. Lead the coordination and administration of the postsecondary assessment program including the PSAT SAT ASVAB and other college or career related assessments.8. Provide school counseling classroom lessons based on curriculum focused on the mindsets and behaviors all students need for postsecondary readiness and success.9. Routinely conduct data analysis to identify student issues needs and challenges.10. Act as a systems change agent to improve equity and access achievement and opportunities for all students.
