Job Description
Construction General Labor (Asphalt)
- Use various hand and power tools as instructed.
- Clean or prepare construction sites to eliminate possible hazards.
- Excavate by hand ditches or trenches backfill excavations or compact and level earth to grade specifications using picks shovels pneumatic tampers or rakes.
- Position join align or seal structural components such as concrete wall sections or pipes.
- Load unload or identify building materials machinery or tools distributing them to the appropriate locations according to project plans or specifications.
- Position or dismantle forms for pouring concrete using saws hammers etc.
- Complete equipment reports on rack truck compressors.
- Organize and maintain tool trailers in a neat and orderly fashion.
- Assume additional responsibilities as directed.
Requirements
- To be eligible for consideration all applicants must possess a valid Drivers License.
- At least 2 years proven experience working with asphalt is necessary.
- 2 to 3 years of Construction Operations experience Sod work (Landscaping) experience will be beneficial.
- Must have knowledge and understanding of the procedures to use the tools and equipment safely and properly.
- Must be able to follow verbal instructions.
- Must have good vision stamina handeye coordination and ability to estimate size and dimensions.
- Must be able to meet all safety requirements and applicable safety policies.
- Able to work outdoors in dusty or dirty areas.
- Strong attention to detail and quality craftsmanship.
- Relies on experience and judgment to plan and achieve goals.
- Adaptive to different personalities and management styles
- Team player with good interpersonal skills
