Job Summary
Sunshine Enterprise is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Program Specialist to join the team. Under general supervision the Program Coordinator will support compliance with cultural and linguistic (C&L) state and federal regulatory requirements.

Position Responsibilities:
- Coordinates incoming language translation and/or reviews requests of internal and external member materials.
- Interacts directly with members and providers to coordinate and book facetoface interpreter requests with contracted interpreting vendors.
- Coordinates the timely vending and completion of Alternative Format material such as Braille Audio and Large Print with contracted vendors.
- Coordinates the vending of professional translation and review services in one or more of the following languages: Arabic Farsi Chinese Korean Spanish or Vietnamese (American Sign Language).
- Assists in completing and/or responding to regulatory agency reports (Department of Health Care Services (DHCS) Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) National Committee for Quality Assurance (NCQA) etc. surveys audits and evaluations regarding C&L program.
- Reviews researches and responds to member grievances related to contracted vendor issues.
- Processes vendor invoices for translation and interpreter services timely and accurately.
- Reviews analyzes and interprets regulations and internal/external policies and procedures related to cultural and linguistic services.
- Participates in a missiondriven culture of highquality performance with a member focus on customer service consistency dignity and accountability.
- Assists the team in carrying out department responsibilities and collaborates with others to support short and longterm goals/priorities for the department
Experience & Education:
- High School diploma or equivalent required.
2 years of experience in project coordination translations or interpreting services required.
- An equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the position such as those listed above may also be qualifying.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree in a health care related field or cultural and linguistic studies.
- 2 years of experience in health maintenance organization (HMO) Medicare Medi Cal/Medicaid and health services.
- 1 year of experience with a health plan or working with culturally diverse populations.
- Professional education in project management translation interpretation or cultural competency training.
- Experience in managed care and/or government programs.
Knowledge and Abilities to:
- Develop rapport and establish and maintain effective working relationships with the supervisors staff and external contacts at all levels and with diverse backgrounds.

- Utilize computer and appropriate software (e.g. Microsoft Office: Word Outlook Excel PowerPoint) and job specific applications/systems to produce correspondence charts spreadsheets and/or other information applicable to the position assignment
