JOB TITLE:
Assistant Professor Nuclear Science/Engineering
JOB PURPOSE:
The Department of Mechanical Engineering and the School of Energy Resources at the University of Wyoming invites applications for a tenuretrack position in nuclear engineering broadly defined. Individuals with research interests in any relevant areas are encouraged to apply including reactor/nuclear physics advanced energy systems reactor thermal hydraulics advanced computational methods or materials science relevant to nuclear applications. The position will be filled at the Assistant Professor level and candidates must hold a Ph.D. or equivalent with postdoctoral experience highly successful candidate will be expected to excel in teaching at the undergraduate and graduate levels establish a nationallyrecognized research program with significant external funding support and contribute to departmental and universitywide governance.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Develop and oversee an externallyfunded research program of significant relevance to nuclear engineering. Teach undergraduate and graduate coursework.
SUPPLEMENTAL FUNCTIONS:
Carry out necessary service to their home department.
COMPETENCIES:
Ability to develop coursework and teach effectively at the undergraduate and graduate levels.
Ability to design securing funding for and mentor students in the of research projects related to nuclear engineering.
REMOTE WORK ELIGIBILITY:
This position provides vital support to campus customers and requires the successful candidate be available to work on campus.
