Familiarity with the special education process in written and verbal communication ability to prioritize tasks and duties with a focus on studentcentered an unwavering belief that every student can grow and ResponsibilitiesProvide direct service and consultation services to students staff and a safe structured and supportive environment for students with visual impairments throughout the professional development opportunities and support for all staff in the unique learning needs of students with vision specialized instruction and support for students with visual students functional vision and learning needs to develop individualized education plans (IEPs) or 504 plans including assessment driven goals and objectives accommodations and closely with teachers braillist paraprofessionals and families to support student braille assistive technology use of low vision tools and other adaptive skills as to different school sites within the district as materials acquisition and orders for supplies through resources such as APH AIM Library and Federal together with community partners including state agencies such as Massachusetts Commission for the Blind Department of Developmental Services and outside evaluators.
