Description

The Mount Sinai Health System is seeking a FullTime Chief of Neurocritical Care to join Mount Sinai Hospital.

The Mount Sinai Health System is recruiting a dynamic clinicianresearcher as theDivisionChieffor Neurocritical Care with an appointment in the Department of Neurosurgery and a member of the Institute for Critical CareMedicine (ICCM). The Division of Neurocritical Care oversees two Neurosciences ICUs and cares for a wide range of neurologically injured patients. Constructed in 2019 the Mount Sinai Hospital NSICU is a state of the art 18bed unit with a focus on complex neurovascular cases. Our other NSICU located at Mount Sinai West is a 14bed ICU with special focus on the management of ICH epilepsy and movement disorders. Additionally the neurocritical care team oversees the management and transfer of over 1000 neurologic emergency cases per year across our health system. The division boasts a growing neurocritical care fellowship program and has educational and research conferences are fully integrated between campuses. Over the next decade the neurocritical care team is poised to expand into other Mount Sinai system hospitals and seeks an established faculty member to lead this growth.

The primary goal of theDivisionChiefwill be to lead a team of Neurointensivists fellows and advanced practice providers to provide world class multidisciplinary patient centered Neurocritical care. TheDivisionChiefwill work closely with department ICCM and hospital leadership to grow a system wide cross coverage model and expandthe program. This role will also serve as a mentor to junior faculty and be expected to participate in the educations of fellows residents and APPs. Applicants are expected to be accomplished faculty members with a robust clinical research background.

This position will include an appointment in the Department of Neurosurgery. Our neurosurgical clinical research coordinator team of over 25 fulltime personnel supports one of the most productive clinical research efforts in the country. All new faculty are supported to participate in and contribute to these efforts. The Department of Neurosurgery offers comprehensive care for conditions ranging from brain tumors cerebrovascular disorders spinal disorders trauma and epilepsy supported by stateoftheart facilities and cuttingedge technologies like virtual reality augmented reality artificial intelligence and biomedical engineering. Responsibilities
  • Oversee the division of neurocritical care as it expands across the Mount Sinai Health System in the next ten years.
  • Manage the care of patients with neurological or neurosurgical needs including highrisk patients stroke brain tumors and more
  • Ensure the quality and safety of patient care including treatment outcomes and quality improvement
  • Lead the daytoday operations of the division including clinical services and training programs

Qualifications
  • Medical Degree from an Accredited University
  • New York Medical License
  • Board Certified in Neurology
  • Fellowship training in Neurocritical Care
  • At least 10 years of experience as a neurointensivist
  • At least 5 years of experience as ICU Director or higher
  • Committed to Mount Sinai and the communities we serve
  • Excellent communication bedside manner and organizational skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively in an interdisciplinary setting
  • A strong work ethic and desire to participate in a teamoriented performancedriven Health System

Compensation range from 375K to 430K (not including bonuses / incentive compensation or benefits)

Mount Sinai Health System provides a salary range to comply with the New York City law on Salary Transparency in Job Advertisements. Actual salaries depend on a variety of factors including experience specialties historical productivity historical collections and hospital/community need. As such an actual salary may fall closer to one or the other end of the range and in certain circumstances may wind up being outside of the listed salary range. The salary range listed is for fulltime employment and does not include bonuses / incentive compensation or benefits.
