The Department of Mathematical Sciences at High Point University invites applications for a fulltime Instructor of Mathematical Sciences to begin in August 2025. This is a ninemonth nontenuretrack appointment. Faculty have an opportunity for promotion to Senior Instructor after 5 years.
Responsibilities will include teaching four undergraduate mathematics and statistics courses per semester primarily at the freshman and sophomore level. These may include general education quantitative reasoning courses introductory statistics courses and introductory mathematics courses through the calculus sequence. The successful candidate will be expected to collaborate with faculty on curriculum and program development pursue professional growth opportunities related to teaching and contribute to the department and university through service.
The Department of Mathematical Sciences is a community of 16 faculty members and values engaging and effective teaching. We seek a dynamic educator who is passionate about bringing mathematics and statistics to life in the undergraduate classroom.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- A masters degree or PhD in mathematics statistics or a related field is required. Regardless of the field a minimum of 18 graduate credit hours in mathematics or statistics are required.
- Teaching experience is preferred.
- Ability to teach both mathematics and statistics courses is preferred.
- Experience integrating technology into teaching practices is preferred.
