Job Description
Queens Hospital Center is seeking aMedical Director of the Child/Adolescent Psychiatric Outpatient Services (CAOPD)!
The Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai affiliated with New York City HH Queens Hospital Center (QHC) has an exciting opportunity for a Medical Director of CAOPD. QHC serves the culturally diverse community of Eastern Queens and is seeking a fulltime BoardCertified Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist. The Outpatient Services include the Child and Adolescent Outpatient Clinic School Based Mental Health Programs Child Crisis Intervention Services Pediatric Emergency/Crisis Consultation Service and an opportunity to participate in new initiatives including Transition Aged Youth Program and Caring Transition Services. HH Queens/Mt. Sinai is also proud to begin a new Psychiatry Residency Program launching July 2025. The Child/Adolescent Director will join this leadership team and play an important role in resident education.
Responsibilities
- Responsible for the administration planning organization and overall general management of QHC Child and Adolescent Services.
- Will join the Medical leadership team of Behavioral Health.
- Participate in quality assurance and incident review management meetings and report to the Chief of BH Ambulatory Care Services and the Chief of Psychiatry.
Qualifications
- Must have a MD/DO degree.
- Board Certified with a valid New York State License DEA and Medicaid number.
- Should have strong clinical abilities teaching experience communication and interpersonal skills.
- Prior management/leadership positions and experience with academic medical center and/or public health systems is preferred.
Compensation
We offer a faculty appointment with the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai commensurate with credentials experience and qualifications. Compensation ranges from $250K to $280K.

Actual salaries depend on a variety of factors including experience specialties historical productivity historical collections and hospital/community need. As such an actual salary may fall closer to one or the other end of the range and in certain circumstances may wind up being outside of the listed salary range. The salary range listed is for fulltime employment and does not include bonuses / incentive compensation or benefits.
