Job Description
The ACCRC Licensed Veterinary Technician (LVT) will provide veterinary technical support to the Animal Cancer Care and Research Center (ACCRC) in Roanoke Virginia. This position will support all ACCRC functional units including but not limited to; anesthesia radiology duties surgical oncology radiation oncology ward and treatment room management medical oncology including administering chemotherapy agents and the administration of medications and treatments as directed.
Required Qualifications
Licensed or Licensed eligible in the Commonwealth of Virginia as a Veterinary Technician (LVT). Experience in critical care nursing in a veterinary medical setting. Working knowledge of basic nursing skills; ability to place intravenous catheters; working knowledge of CPR; ability to understand and follow instructions; excellent communications and interpersonal skills; rabies prophylaxis will be required (provided by employer).
Preferred Qualifications
Experience working in a veterinary clinical setting with experience in surgical oncology and anesthesia preferred.
