Ashford Hospital was opened in 1950 it was originally a joint collaboration between Unley Mitcham West Torrens and Marion Councils and a group of Western District doctors. For over 70 years Ashford Hospital has been dedicated to caring for people and families living in South Australia. Our expert team of surgeons specialist doctors dedicated nurses midwives and other professionals strive to ensure that patient experiences are the best that they can be.
In 1995 Ashford Hospital was the first private hospital in the state to open an emergency department which now attends to over 10000 patients each year. Ashford Hospital was also the first private hospital in South Australia to perform Cardiac Surgery.
Supported by the latest technology and robotics we provide a wide range of clinical services including cardiology orthopaedics general surgery urology vascular surgery general medicine oncology and haematology. Were also renowned for our maternity and gynaecology service caring for thousands of expectant mums and families each year.
Our comprehensive range of services enables us to perform a broad range of surgical medical diagnostic and interventional procedures. We are fully equipped with the highest level of private critical care neonatal and maternal care available in South Australia and our services are supported by onsite medical imaging radiology pathology and pharmacy.
