Required Qualifications:
- Valid Michigan School Psychologist certificate
Preferred Qualifications:
- Previous school experience working with children with a variety of needs ordisabilities including emotional and/or behavioral challenges.
Essential Job Functions:
- Provide socialemotional learning supports interagencycollaboration and calibration supporting the students academic and emotionalneeds interdisciplinary approaches to sensory needs and other related servicesupports and the ability to utilize CPI when imminent danger is present.
- Ability to understand and fulfill special education requirements by law;such as IEP creation/implementation case management duties individual/grouptherapy etc.
- Conduct parent interviews to acquire sociodevelopmental information as neededfor special education referrals and general education needs.
- Analyze information gained through data collection and analysis record reviewsand interviews to determine environmental impacts and appropriate resourceneeds; integrate gained information into a written report and/or oral presentation.
- Collaborate with the IEP team to create a comprehensive plan to support theneeds of the student while working toward their IEP goals and includes assisting with all areas of the students disability related needsincluding evaluations.
- Attend and participate in all related special education meetings.
- Maintain a clear understanding of the FBA and PBSP process. The ability to createimplement and collect data on Functional Behavioral Assessment and PositiveBehavioral Support Plans (FBA/PBSP) is preferred but will have opportunitiesfor professional learning around these topics.
- Participate in professional development activities aimed at current trends andbest practices for the provision of comprehensive socialemotional support.
- Preferred knowledge of Response to Intervention process.
- Demonstrated experience and knowledge with a variety of diagnostic instruments.
- Demonstrated experience and knowledge with Pattern of Strengths and Weaknessesprocess.
- Excellent communication skills both verbal and written.
- Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills.
- Commitment to lifelong learning as demonstrated by attendance at seminarsinservices and training as appropriate.
- Consistent and reliable attendance
- Perform other duties as assigned
Physical Requirements:
While performing the duties of this job the employee is required to stand walk sit use hands to finger handle or feel reach with hands and arms climb or balance stoop kneel crouch or crawl talk hear (in a moderate or noisy environment). The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision distance vision and ability to adjust/focus. Work Environment:
The noise level in the work environment is usually loud to moderate. Work may be performed indoors and/or outdoors. The employee is directly responsible for the safety wellbeing and work output of students.
Mental Functions:
