Job Title: Practicum/Student Teacher Exemption Status/Test: NonExempt

Student teaching is the culminating clinical practice where preservice teachers demonstrate their knowledge skills and dispositions related to educating children from prekindergarten through twelfth grade. Livingston ISD partners with university educator preparation programs and alternative certification program participants choosing clinical teaching as their certification pathway to provide for the completion of a capstone student teaching experience required by the State of Texas.
Education/Certification:
Complete all University or ACP Preparation program requirements
Bachelors degree from an accredited university or the ability to obtain upon completion of student teaching/Practicum requirement.
Physical Education Teachers/Professional Support: Current automated external defibrillator (AED) certificate
Special Knowledge/Skills:
Knowledge of core academic subject assigned.
Knowledge of curriculum and instruction
Ability to instruct students and manage their behavior.
Strong organizational communication and interpersonal skills

Regular attendance is an essential job function and requirement.
Experience:
Completion of Internship requirements of your university Program EPP or Alternative Preparation Program.
Mental Demands/Physical Demands/Environmental Factors:
Tools/Equipment Used: Personal computer and peripherals; standard instructional equipment; P.E. teachers: automated external defibrillator (AED)
Posture: Prolonged standing; frequent kneeling/squatting bending/stooping pushing/pulling and twisting
Motion: Frequent walking
Lifting: Regular light lifting and carrying (less than 15 pounds); may lift and move textbooks and classroom equipment
Environment: Work inside; may work outside; regular exposure to noise
Mental Demands: Maintain emotional control under stress; work prolonged or irregular hours
