This stateoftheart unit design features private rooms natural lightfilled spaces open nurses station and exercise rooms. Innovative technology has been integrated into this space to promote a safe environment for staff members and patients.
John Pappajohn Pavillion 1JPE) is a 4bed inpatient unit with 4 beds for adults experiencing psychiatric symptoms related to mood disorders thought disorders and in some cases cooccurring intellectual disabilities with psychiatric overlay. Patients are the most acutely ill and tend toward more dysregulated behavior than other adult units. Behavior management plans are supported by psychology professionals. The unit is routinely staffed with Registered Nurses Psychiatric Nursing Assistants and Behavioral Health Consultants within a treatment team that includes therapists physicians and social workers.
Percent of Time: 60
Schedule: Weekend Option
Location: Roy Carver Pavilion (University Campus)
Rotations: Rotating days of the week rotating every other weekend and rotating holidays
Salary:$36353 to commensurate (not including inpatient or shift differential)
SEIU Pay Plan: Differentials:Shift differentials for evening night and weekend shifts. Premium pay for additional shifts greater than 4 hours. Inpatient differential of $10000 per year

Education Required:
- An Associates Degree in Nursing a Diploma in Nursing a Baccalaureate Degree in Nursing Professional Masters of Nursing and Healthcare Practice (MNHP) MSN/Clinical Nurse Leader or a Masters Degree in Nursing (MSN MA) is required.
Experience Requirements:
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills are required
- Demonstrates excellent interpersonal skills with patients/families nursing staff and interdisciplinary team members as demonstrated through written and verbal interactions
- General computer skills are required
- Current license to practice nursing in Iowa is required by date of hire
Desirable Qualifications:
- Baccalaureate Degree in Nursing or Masters Degree in Nursing is highly desired
- If Baccalaureate degree in Nursing is not yet obtained active enrollment in a BSN program is desirable
- Knowledge of university and hospital policies and procedures is desired
