Job Title: Summer Academy Administrator
Location: Various Summer Academy Sites (BurnleyMoran ES Walker Buford CHS)
Reports to: Division / Site Administrator
FLSA Status: Exempt
Summary:
The Summer Academy Administrator is responsible for planning supervising and implementing Summer Academy programs to support both enrichment and remedial learning for students.
Essential Functions:
Skills Knowledge and Abilities:
The Summer Academy Administrator must be able to perform multiple technical tasks with a need to occasionally update skills to meet changing job conditions. Specific skills include adhering to safety practices planning and managing a program preparing and maintaining accurate records using pertinent software applications and analyzing situations to define issues and draw conclusions. The Summer Academy Administrator also must have knowledge of age appropriate activities business telephone etiquette concepts of grammar and punctuation; safety practices and procedures; ability to schedule a number of activities meetings and/or events gather collate and/or classify data use jobrelated equipment; flexibility to independently work with others in a wide variety of circumstances work with data utilizing defined but different processes operate equipment using a variety of standardized methods; work with a significant diversity of individuals and/or groups; utilize a variety of data and jobrelated equipment; independent problem solving is required to analyze issues and create action plans; independent interpretation of guidelines; strong communication with diverse groups maintaining confidentiality meeting deadlines and schedules setting priorities; work as part of a team; adapting to changing work priorities; working with frequent interruptions; monitor and appropriately allocate funds for the program.
Education and/or Experience:
Virginia Teaching License and at least 3 years of teaching experience are required. A degree in Administration and Supervision or enrollment in a leadership program as well as experience in a leadership role is preferred.
Physical Conditions and Nature of Work:
The usual and customary methods of performing the jobs functions require the following physical demands: some lifting carrying pushing and/or pulling; some stooping kneeling crouching and/or crawling; and significant fine finger dexterity. Generally the job requires 20 sitting 45 walking and 35 standing. The job is performed under minimal temperature variations and some hazardous conditions.

The Summer Academy Administrator is evaluated by the Site Administrator.
