Join us as our next Production Supervisor reporting to our Production Process Manager. You will manage the activities and areas directly associated with production including customer ship dates scheduling of all production lines continuous improvement programs and training of new employees to ensure safety quality and production. Organize staff and material flow to optimize production performance. Train staff to achieve departmental and organization goals. Coordinate workload and set expectations throughout all shifts. Summarize shift activities and leave concise information on any issues that need to be addressed by supervisors and group leaders on other shifts.
This position is located in East Hanover NJ.
This is a second shift position
You will be responsible for:
- Manage production group leaders and hourly staff and their daily activities. Organize staff and material flow to optimize performance. Assist the scheduler(s) with prioritizing customer orders based on ship dates. Oversee replenishment of packaging material used. Monitor batch yields and initiate adjustments. Identify the cause of delays and take corrective action.
- Lead improvement projects that support productivity increase product profitability and organization on the floor. Work with all departments (QCWH Planning) to resolve productionrelated problems. Investigate any production nonconformances and customer complaints. Initiate corrective action. Investigate new equipment and methods to upgrade manufacturing and efficiency and make recommendations to management.
- Maintain accurate inventory records. Ensure that all production and inventory transactions are reported. Train staff to identify and correct problems.
- Ensure compliance with operational safety environmental protection industrial hygiene and GMP standards. Coordinate the removal of waste. Train staff in safety and standard operating procedures (e.g. sampling mixing packing flashpoints and flammables).
- Develop staff; implement crosstraining for staff to ensure techniques and greater productivity. Promote work rules attendance timecards and all procedures. Monitor performance and institute corrective action.
Required Qualifications:
- College degree.
- Knowledge of flavor industry raw materials finished goods and hazardous materials associated with production and packing.
- Knowledge of computerized inventory control systems.
- 5 years of work experience in compounding.
- 2 years supervisory in flavor manufacturing.
