Power Plant Maintenance Manager WestSide Hydro

Westside Hydro is headquartered on the Clackamas River in Estacada. It oversees the operation and maintenance of 6 hydroelectric facilities (River Mill North Fork Faraday Oak Grove Timothy Lake and Sullivan) and is part of PGEs renewable energy portfolio. In addition to generating 180 MW of renewable energy it also features stateoftheart fishhandling facilities and pristine parks. The Clackamas River and the work are extremely dynamic creating an everchanging opportunity.

In this role youll maintain and oversee replacement installation and maintenance of hydroelectric generation plant equipment and structures with a focus on reliability; youll identify analyze and implement predictive and corrective maintenance; oversee plant computer and control systems; and collect and analyze maintenance data.

Career Level: M2 Manager. Manages professional associates and supervisors is accountable for the performance and results of a team. Adapts departmental plans and priorities to address resource and operational challenges. Decisions are guided by policies resources and business plan; receives moderate guidance from manager. Provides subject matter guidance to associates colleagues and/or customers.

Education/Experience/Certifications:

Education: Requires a bachelors degree in technical discipline or equivalent experience.

Experience: Prefer eight or more years of industrial maintenance experience with preferred experience with project management and planning and scheduling using work management software. Prefer previous experience managing represented (union) employees.

Key Responsibilities:

Plant Maintenance Management:

Manages a team of energy generation staff responsible for maintaining power plant electrical control and mechanical equipment in safe efficient and economical working condition; provides technical management for the team ensures that objectives are met and all relevant standards/procedures and regulations (environmental and safety) are followed; ensures that maintenance problems are identified and resolved; ensures that fleet and/or plant maintenance procedures and working practices are current and fit for the purpose; responsible for the safe of work.

Maintenance Program Management:

Directs the development implementation and of maintenance programs including preventive diagnostic corrective and analytical maintenance practices and procedures for the plant; ensures a high degree of plant availability and reliability; manages all maintenance planning and scheduling activities including achieving corporate goals for scheduled outages; maintains maintenance performance metrics and provides trend information to the plant manager; works with other functional areas and plant management to balance goals and costs to achieve best results; develops administers and enforces procedures and policies for plant maintenance; represents the plant on capital projects affecting the project site.

Contract Management:

Administers the plant maintenance and related contracts; provides oversight of contractor activities; manages equipment warrantees and the resolution of warranty issues.

Procurement:

May oversee procurement and warehousing of spare parts for the plant; ensures that all materials procurement practices comply with PGE SOX guidelines.

Emergency Planning/Response:

Assists plant manager with implementation of an emergency action plan; develops and maintains procedures for effective plant operation testing startup and shutdown and for operating equipment in emergency situations; leads and/or participates in periodic staff training in carrying out the plans for the plant as it relates to floods earthquakes fire equipment or structural failures and other emergencies.

Safety Leadership:

Oversees safety programs and policies; ensures compliance with plant and corporate safety practices.

Financial Management:

Monitors and manages expenditures ensuring that all financial targets are met and examines any areas where budgets/expenditures vary from plan; assists with the definition and operation of effective financial controls and decision making. Has primary responsibility for outage and annual O&M budgets.

Resourcing:

Oversees resourcing decisions and planning for team; partners with HR in the definition of jobs recruitment evaluation and selection processes.

Professional Development:

Reviews organizational development needs and training strategies to determine required learning and development outcomes for the team; provides guidance in the creation of development plans; monitors ongoing progress and provides coaching and mentoring and provides feedback; completes annual performance management reviews.

Compensation Range:

$107025.00 $222560.00

Actual total compensation including a performance based incentive bonus is commensurate with experience skills qualifications education training and internal equity. While we anticipate the selected candidate for this position will fall towards the middle or entry point of the compensation range the decision will be made on a casebycase basis.
