SCOPE OF ROLE:
The Vocational Specialist provides rehabilitative services and consultation as a member of a mobile
multidisciplinary treatment team. This role is comprised of 80 field work travel to visits clients in
their home and other settings required.
II. ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Responsible for integrating vocational goals and services with the tasks of all the ACT Team
members.
Assists through all phases of the vocational service provision.
Performing routine clinical services as a member of the ACT Team.
Responsibility for the recipients and for charting services.
Responsible portion or all of creating the service plan.
Responsible for ensuring revisions to the plan as the participants needs change.
Advocating for the rights and preferences of the participant whenever possible.
REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
BA degree in psychology social work or related field
Must have two or more years experience working with persons who are seriously persistently
mentally ill under the supervision of a certified rehabilitation counselor.
Must have excellent verbal written and interpersonal communication skills.
Proficient in MS Word/Excel.
Ability to research material via the internet.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS
Bilingual English/Spanish strongly preferred
Basic knowledge of human services
Valid drivers license preferred.
