JOB TITLE:
Lifeguard
JOB PURPOSE:
Ensure the safety of swimmers at Corbett swimming pool
JFNTMP
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Perform safety checks and water chemistry checks at opening and closing of shifts or any other times needed
- Enforce pool rules and safety procedures
- Administer first aid and/or CPR if needed clean up Biohazard spills if necessary
- Cleaning duties; i.e. pool deck office storage room other areas as needed.
- Complete records and reports
- Current American Red Cross Lifeguard/CPR/FA certified
- Swim 500 yards continuously using front crawl and breaststroke
- ARC recognized entries rescues releases/escapes
- Backboard use in shallow water and deep water
- Reliability report to work on time when scheduled
- Be courteous and consistent
- Monitor activity in and around the pool through patron surveillance
- Enforcing pool rules and policies and educating patrons about them
- Recognizing and responding quickly and effectively to all emergencies
- Administer first aid CPR and using and AED when needed.
- Working as a team with fellow Lifeguards facility staff and fulltime staff
- Have a positive professional and proactive attitude
- Other job duties as assigned

This position provides vital support to campus customers and requires the successful candidate be available to work on campus.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Education:High School Diploma or GED and current UWYO student
Experience:Certified American Red Cross Lifeguard
Other requirements: CurrentAmerican Red Cross Lifeguard/CPR/FA certified
