Job Description
Regional School Unit 19 Transportation Director
Regional School Unit 19 serving over 1800 students in grades PK12 from the towns of Corinna Dixmont Etna Hartland Newport Palmyra Plymouth and St. Albans is seeking a Transportation Director.
The Transportation Director will be responsible for overseeing a safe efficient and compliant transportation program for the district. Key duties include:
- Fleet Management: Ensuring the maintenance and safety of the transportation fleet including buses and related vehicles.
- Compliance: Ensuring adherence to state federal and local transportation laws and regulations.
- Team Leadership: Hiring supervising and supporting a team of transportation staff including drivers and support personnel.
- Operational Efficiency: Coordinating daily transportation routes as well as transportation for athletic events and field trips.
- Collaboration: Working closely with other school administrators staff and the community to ensure transportation needs are met in a safe professional and timely manner.
- Communication and Organization: Exhibiting exceptional personal organizational and communication skills with the ability to be detailoriented and techsavvy.
While a bus drivers license is preferred it is not required to apply for this position.
