Senior Associate Mechanical Engineer
Location: Ottawa Ontario (relocation is required)

Salary: $105K (commensurate with experience)

Our client is a wellrespected multidisciplinary consulting engineering firm with a strong presence in Eastern Canada. As they continue to expand their Mechanical Engineering division in Ottawa they are seeking a driven leader to support business growth client engagement and operational leadership. This role presents an excellent opportunity for an experienced Mechanical Engineer to take on a senior leadership position and help shape the future of the department.
ABOUT THE ROLE
The Senior Associate Mechanical Engineer will be responsible for overseeing projects mentoring a team and fostering client relationships. This individual will play a key role in business development ensuring the successful of projects and contributing to the firms longterm strategic vision.
Key Responsibilities:
- Serve as an Associate for the Mechanical Engineering team providing leadership and mentorship to a team of engineers
- Drive business development efforts by identifying new opportunities and maintaining strong relationships with existing clients
- Act as a primary client liaison representing the firm at meetings events and within industry networks
- Manage and oversee project planning and delivery ensuring highquality service in mechanical engineering for building projects
- Support recruitment efforts including hiring decisions and peer reviews
- Oversee project management aspects such as financials budgeting and scheduling to ensure smooth
- Provide expertise on mechanical systems materials and industry standards supporting project teams as needed
- Stay informed about sustainable building practices and highperformance mechanical design
- Participate in leadership meetings contributing to discussions on operations strategy and company goals
- Supervise the design and technical performance of HVAC Plumbing and Fire Protection systems within the team
- Collaborate with the Principal to share key updates on projects team performance and deliverables
Requirements:
- Professional Engineer (. registered in Ontario
- Minimum of 7 years of experience in Mechanical Engineering including leadership experience
- Previous experience managing teams and mentoring staff is an asset
- Business development experience in Ottawa with a strong professional network is preferred
- Strong knowledge of mechanical and plumbing system codes energy regulations and industry standards
- Excellent communication skills (both verbal and written)
- Proven client and project management experience
- Strong leadership abilities with a proactive and collaborative approach to team management
- LEED Accreditation is an asset but not mandatory
