A day in the life
Manage daytoday operations of our Halifax Metals division while collaborating with other divisions as required
Qualify bids. Reviewall aspects of a new order including estimate preplan information etc.
Establish and continually update job schedule site requirements etc. with general contractor and supervisors
Attend and facilitate weekly project status meetings
Lead and delegate project distribution and manage team members
Collaborate in the development and implementation of organization policies practices procedures and attainment of operating goals
Represent Flynn in new business opportunities through contact with individuals who are a critical part of new project followup work with existing clients based on past performance
Oversee performance of projects to ensure safety quality profitability and timely of work
Provide supervision training development and performance management of direct reports
Ensure effective scheduling of all items/actions required to complete a project on time and on budget
Responsible for developing a strong team within the division and building continuity within the group
Establish and maintain client relationships and develop a high level of trust and credibility with clients alliance partners subcontractors and project teams
Report identified potential business risk elements and design and implementmitigation efforts
Build and maintain relationships with industry leaders associations and organizations
Exercise global decision making by considering other departments within the company
Project staffing needs. Interview develop and retain highperforming employees
Monthly management updates to assure projects are progressing as scheduled and within budget
What we are looking for
10 or more years of experience in construction industry preferred
Strong people skills including abilities to teach coach and mentor
Degree in Construction Management Business or related educational field preferred. Experience in lieu of accepted
Strong knowledge of Architectural Metal/Panels required
Knowledge of commercial roofing work is an asset
Finance knowledge or experience managing budgets required
Engineering and/or drafting experience is an asset
Computer proficiency (MS Office) and knowledge of or ability to learn project management software as well as proprietary Flynn Software
Ability to work in a fastpaced environment and meet deadlines while providing exemplary customer service
Ability to meet goals and maintain compliance with company policies and procedures
