Adjunct Welding Instructor
APPOINTMENT
Appointed by the Chancellor of the College upon recommendation of the Vice Chancellor of Academic Affairs
GENERAL POSITION SUMMARY
Adjunct instructors may be assigned classes at any of the four River Parishes Community College campuses (Gonzales Reserve Plaquemine and St. Charles) as determined by student need and institutional demand. Teaching needs may include facetoface/online and/or evening classes.
No Civil Service test score or assessment is required to be considered for this vacancy.
The pay for the position is contingent upon the hours and classes assigned. Adjunct instructors are currently paid at the rate of $800 per credit hour.

QUALIFICATIONS
- Three 3 years welding and cutting experience.
- Proficient in multiple welding processes.
- Satisfactory background check an offer of employment is contingent on a satisfactory preemployment background check.
- Previous teaching experience preferred.
- Certified Welder Certified Welding Educator Certified Welding Inspector or OSHA Authorized Instructor preferred.
Job Concepts
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Developdeliver revise and teach welding courses.
- Maintain a safe and orderly lab environment.
- Meet College deadlines for attendance taking gradesubmission learning outcomes assessment reporting and textbook adoptions.
- Consult with other College faculty and staff on issues relevant to student success.
