About the role

We are seeking a dynamic and resultsdriven Commodity Trader to join our team in Milton. The role involves managing trading operations in line with Company directives and legal standards overseeing trade and administration and identifying new market opportunities to drive business growth. The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical skills and a deep understanding of market dynamics enabling them to develop effective accumulation and trading strategies. This position reports to the Commodities Manager and will play a critical role in ensuring the success of our trading activities.

Your key responsibilities:

  • Direct and manage trading activities ensuring strict compliance with company directives position limits and legal standards.
  • Inform staff about commodity market trends through daily market briefings and weekly departmental meetings.
  • Oversee trade and administration including negotiating terms monitoring contract performance and resolving any contractrelated issues.
  • Develop and implement trading strategies based on thorough market analysis leveraging insights from cash and futures markets.
  • Manage counterparty risk assessing and monitoring the creditworthiness of trading partners in line with company credit policies.
  • Collaborate with the Commodities team and other stakeholders to optimise supply chain and identify procurement opportunities.


Skills And Experiences

Our Ideal candidate will possess:

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in commodities trading with a strong track record of successful trading operations.
  • Bachelors degree in Finance Economics Business Administration or a related field (highly regarded).
  • Proven ability to formulate and execute strategies across the Australian domestic and export oilseed market.
  • Experience in risk management with a focus on counterparty risk and regulatory compliance.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to build relationships with internal and external stakeholders across various levels.
  • Proficiency in trading platforms and market analysis tools with advanced data analysis skills.
