Summary:

The Clinical Dietitian I (CD I) provides evidencedbased nutrition care to patients/families using practices skill which satisfy the needs/concerns of assigned patients. The CD 1 can formulate and implement an individualized nutrition care plan using current medical nutrition therapy (MNT) and works/collaborates as part of an interdisciplinary team within Cook Childrens Health Care System (CCHCS). The CD 1 contributes to nutrition care decisions that lead to positive outcomes and is an effective educator to patient family/caregivers and staff. The CD I addresses routine problems in the work environment by providing assistance or referring these to other more experienced team members. The CD I prioritizes workload delivers nutrition care to assigned patients and discusses/assists/advocates for the nutritional care needs of the patient/family. Ability to manage daily workload identify routine problems in the work area and solve problems with advance/assistance from other is required. Provides professional guidance to in/outpatients staff outside agencies students and the community while maintaining patient confidentiality and honoring patient rights. This position receives oversight by the Clinical Nutrition Manager.

Education & Experience:

  • Bachelor (required) or Master (preferred) of Science.

  • 02 years of experience required.

  • Pediatric experience preferred.

Certification/Licensure:

  • Must be registered with the Commission of Dietetic Registration and licensed by the State of Texas within six months of hire date.

  • Heart Saver CPR certification required.

  • BLS CPR preferred.
