Job Description

Reports to: Principal

Duty Days: 187 Days

Wage/Hour Status: NonExempt

Pay Grade: IS02

Date Revised: 11/2024

Qualifications:

College hours high school diploma or GED preferred

Proficient keyboarding word processing and file maintenance skills

Excellent organization communication and interpersonal skills

Detailoriented

Ability to work within deadlines and handle interruptions

Speaks reads writes and comprehends detailed instructions in English

Understands and adjusts to changing situations

Spends working time standing walking and lifting heavy objects

Works with others in a positive and cooperative manner

Paraprofessional aide certificate required once employed

Dependable transportation during the workday for the purpose of automotive shop errands

Primary Purpose:

Serve as initial contact with automotive shop patrons through electronic and telephone communications. Manage all automotive shop workflow and perform occasional shopping duties

Major Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. Handle initial electronic and telephone communication from outside patrons and Katy ISD White Fleet with the automotive shop.
  2. Respond to requests for shop services.
  3. Schedule patron jobs for the automotive shop in collaboration with automotive teachers.
  4. Operate computer printer and automotive shop software.
  5. Respect the confidence of students instructional personnel and administration.
  6. Assist instructionally as needed in the automotive shop.
  7. Demonstrate willingness to work where needed and assist others until assignments are completed.
  8. Apply the rules of safety and operations to ensure adherence to ASE Education Foundation requirements for the Automotive program.
  9. Responsible for proper use and care of equipment.
  10. Perform shopping duties as assigned.
  11. Assist teachers in monitoring students in the automotive shop.
  12. Demonstrate professional personal appearance and cleanliness in work habits.
  13. Initiate creation of marketing materials for the automotive shop.
  14. Manage automotive shop activity account/budget.
  15. Attend inservice training and workshops whenever possible to keep abreast of new techniques and operations.

Equipment Used:

Light and heavy automotive shop equipment. Computer system personal computer and calculator as required.

Working Conditions:

Standing for long periods of time. Frequent walking stooping bending pushing and pulling. Moderate lifting and carrying of potentially heavy equipment. Limited exposure to hot and cold temperature due to the nature of the automotive service industry. Must maintain emotional control under stress.
