Position Details: | Early Childhood Assistant positions are based on a 183 day school year 5 days per week and 6.75 hours per day. This position will begin in the 2526 school year. This position will float between various rooms and locations based on staffing needs supporting all ages of the program. |

Paid Stipends!
Fulltime early childhood assistants can receive up to three paid stipends in the202425 school year! These stipends provide an additional week of pay during Fall Winter and Spring breaks!
The hourly rate for a current EVSC assistant will be based on years of service with EVSC in an assistant role. Annual incremental pay increases are given for each year of service with the EVSC in this roleif an employee has worked 120 days in a school year. New employees will begin on year 1.
Education Requirements: | - Completion of the Child Development Associate Certificate and/or completion of an associates or bachelors degree in early childhood education required;
Or - Complete required online professional development within 60 days of position does require an additional certification of a CDA. If you are interested in the position but do not have your CDA EVSC will financially supportemployees in achieving their CDA while working in the role. Completion of the CDA must be performed within one year of employment.

EVSC employees have access to the EVSC Wee Care Learning Centers. The Wee Care program provides a quality early learning experience for employees children as young as six weeks through age five at a special employee rate. This position will automatically be enrolled in the Public Employees Retirement Fund (PERF) through the state of Indiana which includes a defined benefit (Pension) as well as an Annuity Savings Account (ASA). Employees may also participate in a 403(b) Plan. Enrolling in the 403(b) plan allows employees to save for their retirement by making a pretax salary deferral contributions to the Plan. Eligible employees may enroll in the EVSC group life insurance and long term disability plans. EVSC also offers a variety of voluntary insurance products through American Fidelity. SUMMARY:
Assists the early childhood instructor in daily classroom and building activities.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:Other duties may be assigned. - Lead/Assist with smallgroup activities.
- Assist teacher in maintaining discipline and other functions while using positive approach to behavior management.
- Assist with Family Engagement activities.
- Assist with home visits.
- Presents a pleasant caring respectful attitude toward children.
- Assists with set up of classroom and prepares materials for specialized instructionalunits.
- Assist with attendance reports and related clerical functions.
- Assist with collecting and displaying documentation.
- Operate standard school equipment e.g. copier laminator technology audiovisualequipment.
- Escort and supervise children as they move to and from various rooms.
- Supervise children within the building on the playground and on field trips.
- Assist with toileting and selfcare needs of children when necessary (may includediapering).
- Assist with assessments and planning.
- Complete other activities as assigned.
- Attend professional development.
- Participate in PLCs.
- Maintains regular attendance.
