Assessment and evaluation of students: School psychologists conduct evaluations to determine if students have a disability or learning difference. They may also conduct assessments to identify strengths and areas where students may need additional support. School psychologists seek to understand the whole child at school at home and in the community. School psychologists are wellpositioned to advocate for students and collaboration with school staff families and community resources: School psychologists work with teachers administrators and families to create a supportive environment for students. They may provide consultation and collaborate with other professionals to develop plans for students with special needs. Research and data analysis: School psychologists often research to better understand the factors that impact students academic and socialemotional development. They also analyze data to evaluate the effectiveness of intervention and prevention programs. School psychologists help to design implement and evaluate Positive Behavior Interventions and Supports (PBIS) and academic MultiTiered Systems of Support (MTSS)
