As a Machinistyou will be trusted to work on medical devices design engineering (Life Sciences) work includes: applying mechanical and electrical engineering principles to develop medical devices that meet customer technical/functional specifications as well as manufacturing cost/efficiency requirements. This role is onsite in our Belmont CA location and a typical day will include:
- Producing small scale prototype components and developing specialized tools
- Precision machining (sub 0.010mm tolerance holding)
- CNC CAM programming (lathe and mill)
- Maintaining equipment and ensuring a clean and safe working environment
What Youll Bring to Alcon:
- Bachelors Degree or Equivalent years of directly related experience (or high school 10 yrs; Assoc.6 yrs; M.S.0 yrs)
- The ability to fluently read write understand and communicate in English
- 2 Years of Relevant Experience
- Excellent attention to detail and problemsolving abilities.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Proficiency in Surfcam software or similar software such as MasterCAM DelCAM
- Familiarity with Solidworks CAD and PDM revision control.
- Familiarity with additive manufacturing processes
- Skilled in temperaturecontrolled machining techniques
- Experience in Sinker EDM machining
- Experience in plastic injection mold making
- Experience in 5 axis CAM programming
