Job Description
Job Title: Senior Data Scientist (NLP)
Description
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Senior Data Scientist (NLP) to join our growing team. The ideal candidate should have a strong foundation in Natural Language Processing (NLP). He/she will be responsible for applying advanced data science techniques build machine learning models that deliver business insights. This role requires a passion for learning and applying cuttingedge technologies in Generative AI for NLP tasks and deliver projects that exceed client expectations.
Key Responsibilities
- Advanced AI/ML/GenAI Implementation: Build production grade machine learning models and ensure proper integration with business applications and systems.
- Client Engagement: Ensure high levels of client satisfaction through taking ownerships excellent communication impactful delivery and strong stakeholder management.
- Exhibit consulting approach: Use consultative communication style to be open to ask relevant questions when requirements/requests are not clear and possess an ability to evaluate the necessity and relevance of tasks and suggest improvements appropriately
- Crossfunctional Collaboration: Work closely with data engineering product and business teams to align on objectives achieve common goals and show proactiveness to contribute more with knowledge and capacity.
- Version control: Follow Git/AzureDevOps best practices including understanding and applying branching strategies
- Domain Adaptation: Apply data science methodologies across different industries and domains with a willingness to quickly learn and adapt to new industries or sectors.
- Testing & Quality Assurance: Ensure the quality and reliability of models through rigorous testing and validation.
- Attention to Detail: Demonstrate strong attention to detail towards model validation data processing and analysis tasks.
Mandatory Skills
- Professional experience: Minimum 3 years of total experience in data science with at least 2 years specifically in NLP.
- NLP Expertise: Proven experience with text classification sentiment analysis and topic modeling using both traditional NLP techniques and advanced approaches including Generative AI (GenAI)
- At least 1 year of experience working with Python including libraries specific to analyse & manipulate large datasets implement statistical models and ensure highquality data processing
- Machine Learning: Deep knowledge of ML models & algorithms aptly deciding which models and techniques to use and why and suggest additional measures to optimize/improve existing solutions
- Version Control: Handson experience with Git/AzureDevOps and understanding of branching strategies for collaborative development.
- Excellent communication skills
Nice to Have Skills:
- Familiarity with the Azure environment and Databricks for building and deploying scalable data pipelines and models.
- Working knowledge of SQL
Skills & Qualification:
- Education: Bachelor s or Master s degree in computer science Data Science Engineering or a related field (Master s/PG in AI/ML/DS preferred).
- Technical Skills: Python Generative AI (LangChain LLM APIs) NLP libraries (spaCy NLTK Hugging Face etc.
- Soft Skills: Consultative approach Strong problemsolving skills ability to work independently and as part of a team excellent communication skills.
