Job Description
Overview:We are looking for a skilled Cloud Database Engineer with expertise in NoSQL databases such as MongoDB Couchbase or Cassandra. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in database engineering high availability architectures automation and security along with familiarity with DevOps practices and tools.
Key Responsibilities:
Database Engineering:
- Design and implement high availability architectures (GDHA HA DR faulttolerant) for NoSQL databases.
- Automate DB provisioning monitoring and maintenance using scripting languages (Ansible Python).
- Ensure database security including encryption access controls Active Directory RBAC and compliance standards.
Project Management and Collaboration:
- Utilize Jira for project management and task organization.
- Participate in daily team meetings to review progress and update on the status of assigned tasks.
- Collaborate with crossfunctional teams to develop integrated services in AWS and GCP.
Continuous Improvement and Mentorship:
- Define test and document standards and best practices.
- Develop training materials for developers and DB support teams.
- Mentor and guide junior team members.
Technical Skills:
Categorywise:
Database Expertise:
- Proven handson experience with NoSQL databases (Couchbase Cassandra MongoDB).
- Knowledge of relational databases (e.g. Cloud SQL AlloyDB Spanner Aurora PostgreSQL Oracle).
High Availability Architectures:
- Experience designing and implementing GDHA HA DR and faulttolerant database architectures.
Automation Skills:
- Proficiency in database provisioning automation monitoring and maintenance using scripting languages (Ansible Python).
- Experience with infrastructureascode tools (Terraform AWS CloudFormation).
Security Knowledge:
- Strong understanding of database security mechanisms including encryption access controls rolebased access (RBAC) and compliance standards.
DevOps Familiarity:
- Familiar with DevOps practices and tools used for continuous integration and deployment (CI/CD).
DaytoDay Activities:
- Utilizing Jira for project management and task organization.
- Conducting daily team meetings to review progress and update on task status.
- Working independently and collaboratively on new database technologies and integrated services in AWS and GCP.
- Defining testing and documenting standards and best practices.
- Developing training materials for developers and DB support teams.
Qualifications:
- Bachelors or Masters degree in Computer Science Information Technology or a related field.
- Relevant certifications in cloud technologies or emerging database technologies are preferred.
Experience:
- 6 years handson experience with NoSQL databases (Couchbase Cassandra MongoDB).

- Strong communication and leadership skills with an ability to convey technical information effectively to nontechnical stakeholders.
