Securitas Canada is currently seeking a security supervisor for our client in Downtown Toronto. Our client specializes in consulting services within the Aerospace and Defence Oil and Gas Metals and Mining Private Equity Consumer Packaged Goods as well as Technology Media and Telecommunications. This unique role will focus on the supervision of 5 security guards in a corporate office environment. You thrive in team environments and have a great attitude and passion for the security of people and property.

Shift: Mondayand TuesdayThursday
SUMMARY Maintains security and safety of people and property in assigned data center. Observes and reports activities and incidents. Management of security teams in various environments.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

- Interact effectively across diverse cultures as well as various levels of client management teams.
- Schedule security guards and cover all shifts in the event of a book off or no show.
- Discipline security staff in accordance with the Collective Bargaining Agreement ensuring all necessary steps are followed.
- Perform foot patrols externally and internally.
- Monitor traffic flow of checkpoints and recommend staffing adjustments as necessary.
- Follow proper procedure for all matters requiring escalation.
- Collect shift activity reports and review for any errors accuracy or omissions.
- Ensure all posts are properly staffed.
- Required to know follow and enforce safe work practices and to be aware of company policies and procedures related to job safety including safety rules and regulations. Employees are required to notify superiors upon becoming aware of unsafe working conditions.
- Ensure all functions duties or tasks are to be carried out in an honest ethical and professional manner and to be performed in conformance with applicable company policies and procedures. In the event of uncertainty or lack of knowledge of company policies and procedures employees are required to request clarification or explanations from superiors or authorized company representative.
- Respond to any and all emergency calls medical response and trespassers.
- Deter all trespassers and redirect away from the client site.
MINIMUM HIRING STANDARDS:
- Security Supervisor experience minimum of 2.5 years
- Experience with a corporate setting is strongly preferred.
- Ability to deescalate tense situations and identify and correct security gaps that arise.
- Must have excellent communication skills.
- Must have a reliable means of transportation (public or private).
- Must have the ability to speak read and write English.
- Must have a High School Diploma or GED. PostSecondary education in a related field is an asset
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Be able to bend sit stand and walk for extended periods of time.
- Work in various environments such as cold weather rain/snow or heat.
- Occasionally lift or carry up to 20 kilograms.
- Climb stairs ramps or ladders occasionally during shift.
- Stand or walk on various surfaces for long periods of time
