Molecular Technologist - Part Time

Job Summary:

We are seeking a detailoriented and highly skilled Molecular Technologist to join our laboratory team in Boca Raton FL. The ideal candidate will be responsible for performing diagnostic tests in Alzheimers Disease (AD) in a CLIAcertified laboratory focusing on immunoassays and operating automated analyzers. You will play a key role in performing complex laboratory procedures to ensure accurate and timely test results. This position is a unique opportunity to contribute to innovation in the diagnosis and management of AD using bloodbased biomarkers.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform Molecular Diagnostic Tests: Execute immunoassays and other molecular diagnostics techniques ensuring precision and compliance with established protocols.
• Operate Automated Analyzers: Operate maintain and troubleshoot highthroughput automated analyzers used in molecular and clinical diagnostics to ensure continuous workflow and accurate results.
• Sample Preparation & Analysis: Prepare and process clinical specimens for molecular testing following standard operating procedures (SOPs) for preanalytical analytical and postanalytical phases.
• Quality Control & Assurance: Conduct routine quality control procedures including calibration and validation of laboratory instruments. Ensure all testing meets internal and regulatory quality standards.
• Data Analysis & Reporting: Analyze test results and record findings accurately in laboratory information systems (LIS). Provide reports to physicians and other healthcare professionals as needed.

Troubleshooting & Maintenance:

• Develop standard operating procedures (SOPs) Troubleshoot issues with analyzers immunoassay kits and other lab equipment to prevent downtime and ensure highperformance operation.
• Inventory & Reagents Management: Monitor inventory levels for reagents and supplies ensuring timely ordering and restocking. Validate reagent performance before use in diagnostic tests.
• Compliance & Safety: Adhere to all laboratory safety guidelines infection control policies and regulatory requirements (e.g. CLIA CAP OSHA). Participate in regular inspections and ensure readiness for audits.
• Continuous Improvement: Stay updated on new technologies methodologies and advancements in molecular diagnostics. Participate in professional development and training sessions.

Qualifications:

Education:

• Bachelors degree in Medical Laboratory Science Molecular Biology Biochemistry or a related field. Certification as a Molecular Technologist (ASCP) or Medical Laboratory Scientist (ASCP) preferred
  

Experience:

• 13 years of experience in a clinical molecular laboratory with handson experience in immunoassays and automated analyzers required. Experience with highthroughput diagnostic environments is a plus.
• Must have a Florida license for Clinical Chemistry

Skills & Competencies:

• Must be certified in Clinical Chemistry and Molecular with experience setting up LIMS
• Expertise in molecular diagnostic techniques especially immunoassays.
• Proficient in the operation calibration and troubleshooting of automated analyzers.
• Strong understanding of laboratory quality control procedures and regulatory requirements.
• Ability to work accurately and efficiently in a fastpaced environment.
• Excellent organizational and problemsolving skills.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work as part of a multidisciplinary team.

Working Conditions:

• This is a parttime position with an opportunity to convert to fulltime
• The salary range is between $35$42 per hour
