Job Description

Diversity & Inclusion Advocate
We are recruiting for a Diversity & Inclusion Advocate to join our team. You will provide personcentred advocacy support to adult clients affected by domestic abuse who have intersectional needs such as gender disability mental health ethnicity. You will raise awareness of the advocacy support available through community outreach educational sessions and professional training. You will build relationships with local agencies to develop partnership working. You will have an understanding of safeguarding and risk assessment and experience of advocating for service users. We actively encourage applicants from all parts of our diverse communities including Disabled People.
The successful applicant will have strong communication and advocacy skills and knowledge of the impact of domestic and sexual abuse.
18.75 hours per week
Salary 26537.63 to 30687.32 (prorata)Starting salary dependent on skills and experience
Fixed term 12month maternity cover contract (anticipated start date 1st June 2025

Important information In order to maintain appropriate professional boundaries former clients of the service will not be considered for employment for two years after their relationship with the service has ended. All successful candidates will be subject to safer recruitment procedures including an enhanced DBS check.
Yellow Door works across Southampton & Hampshire and is based near central Southampton with free staff parking and opportunities for professional development.
