Job Description
- Maintains various grounds fields and parks by performing mowing weeding edging trimming blowing tilling raking digging and other manual labor tasks.
- Lines paints and rakes fields for athletic activities.
- Applies insecticides herbicides and fertilizers.
- Installs turf and seeds on field parks and other grounds.
- Helps maintain equipment and facilities by performing manual labor and semiskilled work.
- Performs litter control functions; Cleans restrooms; sets up picnic pavilions and others as assigned.
- Operates grounds maintenance vehicles performs preventative maintenance on vehicles and equipment
- Makes daily written and oral reports
- Informs and directs public in the use of facilities
- Knowledge of landscape maintenance and turf installation.
- Knowledge of tools and equipment to do related work.
- Knowledge of grounds maintenance practices and principles.
- Ability to perform heavy manual labor under varying weather conditions.
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
- Skill in the operation and preventative maintenance of equipment and related tools.
- High school graduation or possession of an acceptable equivalency diploma.
- Grounds maintenance experience preferred.
- Valid Florida Drivers License.
- Moderate lifting and carrying up to 50 pounds.
- Acceptable eyesight with or without correction.
- Able to communicate both orally and in writing.
- Walking standing kneeling bending driving stooping
- Operating equipment
- Works outside in varying weather conditions.
- Exposure to chemicals (insecticides herbicides and fertilizers).
- Heights up to 15 feet.
