Job Description
We are looking for a dynamic and compassionate Licensed Veterinary Technician to join our team as a Triage Specialist. In this critical role you will be the first point of contact for pet owners in need of emergent care playing a vital role in assessing and prioritizing cases to ensure every pet receives timely and appropriate care.
We are a 24hour Emergency Specialty and Critical Care center located in Syracuse New York. We currently have a large team of full and part time emergency clinicians as well as board certified specialists in surgery internal medicine radiology critical care and oncology. We also have a physical rehabilitation suite including underwater treadmill hydrotherapy pool and exercise room. Attached to the VMC is an IDEXX reference laboratory which enables accurate test results with a fast turnaround time for hospitalized patients. Learn more about the practice atour website
We are currently seeking a Licensed Veterinary Technician to serve as a Triage Specialist for our busy ER/Specialty practice
Key Responsibilities:
- Triage and Assess: Conduct initial assessments of pets presenting with urgent or emergency needs determining the level of care required.
- Collaboration: Work closely with veterinarians and other medical staff to prioritize treatments and coordinate care based on urgency.
- Client Communication: Provide clear and compassionate communication with pet owners explaining treatment plans and keeping them informed of their pets condition.
