Description
This is a temporary position.
The Senior Manager Privacy promotes and supports a culture of ethics and compliance at Marriott as a key member of a crossfunctional team responsible for advancing the customer data privacy agenda. Part of the Business Intelligence organization the Senior Manager Privacy will provide privacy support and subject matter expertise on privacy and data protection issues as the regulatory and business landscape evolves. This role partners closely with the Global Privacy Office (Legal GPO) Global Technology Global Information Security Marketing Loyalty Digital and continents to develop and implement processes and scalable technical solutions to enable automated privacy controls and reduce risk as well as monitor these programs for sustained compliance. Within the Privacy portfolio the Senior Manager will be responsible for the Third Party Data Sharing Product and the Data Technology Transformation Privacy Track. The Senior Manager will also be responsible for supporting special projects and inquiries in support of Global Privacy needs and objectives and will work closely with the Senior Director Privacy and the rest of the Privacy team to develop and advance the Privacy roadmap.CANDIDATE PROFILEEducation and Experience Required
  • 5 years of professional experience demonstrating progressive career growth and a pattern of exceptional performance
  • 2 years of data privacy or data protection experience
  • Familiarity with best practices around privacy policies principles and technology tools
  • 4year degree from an accredited university in from an accredited university in Business Administration Marketing or related major
  • Proven skill in leading and influencing across multiple functional organizations (e.g. IT Global Marketing) in support of business priorities
  • Superior written and oral communication and executive presentation skills
  • Experience preparing and presenting communications to senior leaders and various levels of leadership across a highly matrixed crossfunctional organization
  • Strong project management skills with proven ability to translate vision to action structure a project and manage scope budget and timeline to deliver measurable business results and value.

Education and Experience Preferred

  • International Association of Privacy Professionals (IAPP) Certification
  • Management consulting experience
  • 2 years of data privacy or data protection experience in the retail or hospitality industry

CORE WORK ACTIVITIES

Third Party Data Sharing Product

  • Enable and maintain reliable recordkeeping and compliance with regulations governing Customer Personal Data purchasing use and sharing with our third parties through enterprise solutions and periodic audits
  • Partner with the GPO and other disciplines to maintain and update the formal approval process of strategic thirdparty Customer Personal Data sharing relationships

Digital and Technology Transformation Privacy Track

  • Encourage and document PrivacybyDesign principles and standards for major technology transformation programs
  • Ensure appropriate Privacy (Individual Rights Data Retention Third Party Data Sharing Audit & Monitoring etc. and Compliance (anticorruption trade sanctions/OFAC risks etc. controls are incorporated into enterprise solutions
  • Evaluate policies and processes to identify improvement opportunities
  • Translate regulatory requirements into business implications controls and remediation options
  • Educate internal stakeholders on the timing and implications of existing and new regulations

Privacy Support Special Projects & Inquiries

  • Work with the GPO and other Privacy Business Partners to understand the everevolving global data privacy and protection laws (e.g. GDPR PIPL U.S. States) within countries Marriott operates and translate regulatory requirements into business implications and remediation options
  • Support the Privacy team in responding to highpriority regulatory inquiries and implementing improvement opportunities
  • Partner with the GPO to identify and develop recommendations for the PIA process to decrease timetocompletion and improve compliance with company policies and regulatory expectations
  • Contribute to and support privacy training and awareness building within Marriott

The pay range for this position is $52.06 to $82.45 per hour.
