What youll be doing
- Lead in the analysis support and migration of legacy JAVA applications code structure and platforms. This will ensure it remains fit for the future and supports changing requirements and working practices in a fastchanging technology landscape.
- Running code scans on legacy JAVA code to identify log and remediate Known Exploitable Vulnerabilities.
- Identifying implementing or suggesting changes that improve service to internal and external customers.
- For all Legacy Applications provide an impact assessment with regular updates on the related software currency for each identifying and documenting the key information relating to risk age mitigations or remedial actions required.
- You will support & guide junior team members whilst ensuring the delivery and management of tasks across legacy and future cloudbased Java stacks.
We need you to have
- A proven track record with 5 years of indepth experience in Java development at an enterprise scale using both legacy and modern frameworks i.e. Springboot etc.
- Understanding of Application servers such as Weblogic Jboss IBM WAS etc
- Experience of Migrating legacy Java platforms and source repositories
- SME knowledge and significant practical experience in Agile development with a strong grasp of automation continuous integration (CI/CD) testdriven development (TDD) and continuous refactoring.
- In depth knowledge and significant practical experience of performing code reviews and drive software standards and best practices.
- SME experience in Agile development e.g. Scrum Kanban etc.
Its a bonus if you have but not essential
- SDLC/Dev Ops Git CI/CD pipeline frameworks such as Jenkins/ADO SonarQube NexusIQ.
- Knowledge of Middleware products e.g. IBM IIB/ACE.
- Understanding of JDK version for developing the code. i.e. java 1.47
- SpringBoot Spring Cloud Netflix Stack Maven/Gradle.
- JMS ORM tools e.g. Hibernate.
