Key Responsibilities:
Conduct environmental cleanup activities
Ensure HazardousMaterials incident mitigation
Perform chemical transfers
Perform technical rescue activities
Involvement in chemical firefighting tasks
Provide dangerous goods consulting
Participate in various Industrial services
Responding to various emergencies as requested
Participating in job specific and health & safety training as required
Operating his/her position in an efficient and safe manner
Participating in standby confined space rescue work
Completing work related documentation and reporting
Follow all established organizational policies and procedures.
Support the vision and values of the organization.
Promote and participate in a work environment free of workplace harassment and violence.
Perform work in a safe manner so as not to endanger oneself or others.
Reporting workplace hazards accidents or other occurrences that may pose a risk to the organization or the safety of oneself or others.
Adhere to the Occupational Health & Safety Act Workplace Safety & Insurance Board Act Ontario Human Rights Code and Employment Standards Act.
Participate in team/staff meetings when required.
Work in a manner that preserves confidentiality and minimizes risk.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Knowledge Skills and Abilities:
Postsecondary education preferably in a related area of study
NFPA 472 Hazardous Material Operations
NFPA 1001 level 1 or 2
Valid DZ and/or AZ license with a suitable drivers abstract (standard transmission up to 18 speed)
Oncall work availability for emergency response
Hazardous materials and/or environmental experience an asset
Vacuum truck experience an asset
Strong communication skills (both verbal and written)
Confined space awareness
Reliable means of personal transportation
Willingness to work at extreme heights and within confined spaces
Participate in preemployment and postincident drug & alcohol testing
Professional and trustworthy with a customer focus to his/her work
Must be a highly motivated service and teamoriented individual with a strong attention to detail and accuracy.
Valid Certification in First Aid/CPR (or willingness to obtain)
Bilingual English/French or other languages an asset.
