About the role

Do you want to make life better for LGBT victims and survivors of abuse

Galop the UKs LGBT antiabuse charity is seeking a Sexual Violence Caseworker to support LGBT Sexual Violence survivors across the UK.

Galop works directly with thousands of LGBT people who have experienced abuse and violence every year. We specialise in supporting victims and survivors of domestic abuse sexual violence hate crime and other forms of abuse including honourbased abuse forced marriage and socalled conversion therapies. We are a service run by LGBT people for LGBT people and the needs of our community are at the centre of what we do.

We run a national support helpline for LGBT victims and survivors of: domestic abuse; hate crime; and sexual abuse; and socalled conversion therapy. We provide advocacy services both in London and nationally for LGBT victims who need longerterm support. We are personcentred empowermentbased and traumainformed meaning our focus is always on helping our clients decide what is best for them and then supporting them through their journey.

We use what we learn through working on the frontlines with clients to work on national and local policy change to improve outcomes for LGBT victims and survivors of abuse and violence. We build evidence through key pieces of research like our upcoming report into LGBT experiences of sexualviolence. We push for legislative change improved statutory guidance for victims and better understanding of the needs of LGBT people around the country.

We are looking forward to someone to join our advocacy and support team providing recovery support to LGBT survivors of sexual violence across the UK. You will work directly with LGBT victims/survivors of sexual violence offering practical recovery based support and psychoeducation to support clients in their recovery journey from sexual violence related trauma. You will also facilitate groups for survivors with a focus on recovery from the impacts of abuse and violence.

Your work will focus on needs specifically related experiences of sexual violence including issues such as wellbeing safety and access to other services to enable survivors to cope and recover. You will be empathetic and thoughtful in your approach to understanding your clients needs while remaining boundaried and mindful of selfcare

You will have expertise in delivering needsled specialist support services adhering to best practice when working with victims/survivors of sexual violence and maintaining accurate records. You will ensure that data is collected on those we support to ensure that we continue to build an evidence base on the kinds of people we are supporting. You will need to be solutionsfocussed and enjoy working collaboratively across a diverse and committed team. Youll need to have good resilience and selfcare and be prepared to work in an environment where abuse and violence are regularly talked about. Youll need to understand the impact of trauma and how that affects our team.

Galops offices are located in London. This role will be hybrid working with both home working and working from the office.


Hours

Full Time 35 hours per week)


Contract

Until 31 March 2026 (extension subject to funding)

Salary

31359..37 (Including inner London weighting of 4129.42
