Schedule: 32 Hours Days 7a3p Every Other Weekend PartTime Benefit Eligible
Position Summary:
Provide technical assistance to the nursing staff and performing a variety of computer clerical scheduling and supply functions necessary for the operation of a 16bed geriatric psychiatric care unit. Supports clinical staff with 15min checks/continuous ligature rounds when possible
Responsibilities:
Proficiently functions as a technologist in the following areas as deemed competent: Chemistry Hematology Urinalysis and Coagulation.
Ensures QC is within appropriate limits for each test prior to reporting patient results.
Confirms abnormal results prior to releasing and bring any rare and improbable test results to the attention of a Section Head or Lead.
Processes specimens and logs requisitions as needed.
Reviews daily specimen reports as appropriate.
Assists in maintaining an adequate inventory of supplies.
Troubleshoots problems (client instrument computer) as needed.
Performs maintenance on instrumentation as needed.
Records QC and maintains QC records on all assays performed.
Requirements:
Education: High School Diploma.
Experience:
Minimum of 1 year of clerical experience .
Computer skills .
Knowledge of medical terminology .
Working in an outpatient settingpreferred.
Certification/Licensure:
BLS Certification required by DMHor ability to obtain certification within 30 days of hire. Must have CPR certification.
Mandatory Deescalation Education within 30 days of hire
Hardware/Software: Meditech
Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing.
Knowledge of medical terminology preferred.
