Job Description

Nano Oneis a process technology company transforming cathode active material (CAM) production for lithiumion batteries. Our patented OnePot process enables costeffective scalable manufacturing with diverse raw material inputsreducing reliance on constrained global supply chains while enhancing regional production and competitiveness through innovation. We are changing how the world makes battery materials.

POSITION SUMMARY:
We are actively looking for a Lab Technician to join our Technical Operations Team at Nano Ones Innovation Hub in Burnaby BC. As a Lab Technician you will primarily work on materials characterization using a variety of analytical instruments including but not limited to Carbon/Sulfur analysis BET Surface area Laser diffraction particle size analysis tapped density XRD XRF TGA and ICPOES. Work may also involve supporting pilot scale reactions of cathode materials when necessary. This role is ideal for individuals with strong interest in analytical chemistry and materials characterization.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Perform routine characterization of cathode materials using a variety of analytical instruments while adhering to standard operating procedures.
  • Assist in creating and updating documentation such as standard operating procedures data reports and logbooks.
  • Ensure the cleanliness of the lab while upholding 5S standards.
  • Assist with the development of methods for accurately characterizing new materials.
  • Assist with the research and development of new techniques to characterize materials in a process.
  • Participate in the calibration and validation of characterization equipment.
  • Interpret analyze and report results to internal customers.
  • Support pilot plant operations such as synthesis sampling and material processing when needed.
  • Adhere to Nano Ones standard operating procedures and safety practices.

QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Associate degree or diploma in Chemistry or related field.
  • At least two years of prior industry experience in a laboratory setting.
  • Handson experience with tools laboratory apparatus analytical equipment and wet chemistry techniques.
  • Proficiency in the principles and techniques for a range of methods used in materials characterization (e.g. XRD TGA/DSC SEM PSA EDX FTIR ICPOES Carbon/Sulfur) would be an asset.
  • Organized and detailoriented individual with a focus on safety.
